Treating patients in a community setting has many benefits: it\u2019s easy for friends and family members to come in for treatments together; and many patients find it comforting. In some styles of acupuncture, the needles are removed after only a few minutes or after a half hour at most. The style of acupuncture we practice at PNCA allows patients to keep their needles in up to 45 minutes. Many people fall asleep, and wake feeling refreshed.<\/p>\n

- Why community acupuncture?<\/em>\n

- Affordability!<\/strong> By treating multiple patients at once we are able to reduce the overall cost for each patient. In order to make this service accessible to as many people as we can we are offering a sliding scale. We don't decide on what you can afford to pay, you make the decision yourself. We have a payment range and you are welcome to pay whatever you feel that you can afford within that. Again to reduce cost and labour we ask that you come prepared to pay with cash.<\/li>\n
- Frequency!<\/strong>\u00a0For some conditions it is important to have multiple acupuncture sessions in one week or to be able to have weekly sessions over a longer period of time. It is our hope that by making treatments more affordable people will be able to get more out of their acupuncture experience! In your first visit, your practitioner will discuss a treatment plan with you based on your individual needs.<\/li>\n
- Community!<\/strong> Never underestimate the power of community. Not only is it a social experience for some, it can be a healing experience for others. Having people come together for a single goal is empowering and creates a positive energy that everyone can benefit from.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n

- We do offer blankets free of charge but if you have favourite items from home please bring whatever you need to feel comfortable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n

- We will have relaxing music playing for everyone to enjoy. However, if you have your own music or guided meditations that you would like to enjoy\u00a0we encourage the use of iPods or other mp3 players with personal headphones to be conscious of those around you.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n

- Community acupuncture offered at Peninsula Naturopathic Clinic is performed in the IV suite. This means that you will spend 45 minutes lounging in a comfortable recliner. If you feel that you may require extra pillows for comfort please bring them from home.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
